About Me

Scott Lunt moved from Salt Lake City, Utah to Tucson, Arizona in 1994 instantly relishing the warmth and beauty of the surrounding landscape. He took courses in art history and drawing while getting his bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah, but is primarily self-taught. He reignited his lifelong passion for painting during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Previously, painting was a hobby that helped him decompress from his career as an advertising copywriter.

Now, art has become a major part of his life with a current focus on surrealism and magical realism. He primarily paints in acrylic and also enjoys creating papier-mâché sculptures.

Recently, Scott’s work has been shown in Herberger Center Art Gallery’s Tiny Exhibition (Phoenix, AZ), Brassworks Gallery’s Annual Postcard Show (Portland, OR) and private group shows in Tucson.

Scott currently lives with his artist wife, Julie, and their dog, Peanut in Picture Rocks, Arizona.
