I love bold colors, organic shapes and a good story. I’m inspired to create the stories in my work by the plants and animals of the desert, as well as the emotions and common threads that drive human behavior and interaction. These stories are often fleeting moments that raise questions: What are we doing to the world, to others and to ourselves?

My paintings are typically realistic blended with the bizarre and unexpected. Each piece starts as a fragment of a personal experience or something that caught my eye and sticks in my mind: A wasp flies toward my face or I almost step on a blob of melting ice cream. I then make some sketches until the story emerges, ready for the bold color palette.
